LaAmistad Summer Enrichment Program is looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and experienced Teacher with a dynamic talent of creating and nurturing a lifelong love of knowledge in children. We are looking for candidates that will also uphold our vision, mission and core values.

We are looking for professional and caring individuals with the ability to lead academic instruction, and support recreational activities in our 4-week summer program.


  • Must have a BS/BA in Education or related field and/or teaching certificate (Ideally candidates will have a minimum of one year teaching experience)
  • Commitment to mission, goals, and core values
  • Must have own transportation and hold a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Be responsible for teaching 8-12 students during a 4-week summer program.
  • Guide students through academic lessons each day to build & strengthen their Math, ELA and Reading performance 
  • Teach and model positive life, study, and social skills 
  • Monitor and assist with art and recreational activities 
  • Supervise all in-person activities with students. This includes participating in daily meals (lunch) with the students, supervising student drop-off & pick-up
  • Accompany and monitor students during lunch 
  • Ensure teaching assistant and volunteer work together to provide small group support to LaAmistad students. (volunteer camp counselors)
  • Attend pre-training and orientation session prior to the start of the program
  • All in person programming will be conducted in a matter that is compliant with social distancing measures.

Session 1:

Location: St. Martin's Episcopal School and The Westminster Schools 

Days:Mondays-Thursdays ONLY 

Time Frame:June 2nd-26th (June 2th is a staff training day) 

Time:8:00 AM - 2:30 PM 

Session 2:

Location: Peachtree Church 

Days:Mondays-Thursdays ONLY 

Time Frame:July 5th-30th (July 5th is a staff training day) 

Time:8:00 AM - 2:30 PM
